Discover Dayspring!

For student absences, school delays, cancellations, unscheduled early dismissals, and emergency situations, Dayspring Christian Academy keeps in touch using our Parent Alert System.

Parent Alert System – This system is used if the school is not aware of the reason for a student’s absence. We will also use this system to pass along important information during inclement weather conditions that affect the school such as delays, school cancellations, and early dismissals as well as other types of emergency situations that affect the school as a whole. Please note: Each parent must have a custodial log-in to have individual parent alert settings. If you do not have an account, please request one by contacting Mrs. Dee Henry at dhenry@59shoushen.com. To ensure that you are contacted, please check your account to make sure we have your current email address and cell phone number on file.

Weather Situations – When a weather situation occurs, the school administration will make a dismissal decision as quickly and efficiently as possible based on weather conditions/forecasts and the public school transportation situation. When a decision has been made it will immediately be placed on the Dayspring website on the home page as well as on the local television and Christian radio stations. You will also receive a message through our parent alert system (see above).

Thank you for refraining from calling the school during these events unless there is a transportation issue that you must resolve with us. It is difficult for school districts and other emergency officials to get through to the school if the phone lines become overloaded. This same procedure would be used in the event of other types of emergencies. Please plan and discuss with your children various dismissal contingency scenarios that may be needed at those times. Please notify the school in writing of these plans, so they may be kept on file, if they affect transportation. Please note that we will follow the instructions given to us on the transportation form for bus students.

Lunch Reminder – Please note that there will be no lunches served should Dayspring have a delay to the start of the school day. This will apply to all school-offered lunches. Please remember that all students will need to pack a lunch should we have a delay. When we have a two-hour delay, the upper school students will have lunch from 11:50 to 12:15. Our lower school students will eat from 12:15 to 12:45
